( Ma + Chr )

( Ma + Chr ) is an awesome art and design studio based in Paris, founded by Mathilde Aubier and Christine Delaquaize.

They are both amazing interior designers, artists and graphic designers.  So much talent!

Check out more of their brilliance here

Lovely things of the week

1. We finally brought Sprout home.  He is stupidly cute and seems to be enjoying his new home.

2. This great shot for Peter Jensen's AW11 Look book.  The whole Look book is brilliant.  You can see more of it here.

3. I was lucky enough to receive this gorgeous Liberty suitcase for my Birthday from my lovely Mum.
 I LOVE IT!

4. The weather.  Hello Spring, I can see you peeping round the corner.  I think it might be time to hang up my winter coat.  Oh please let it be so.

5.  Great song, great video.

New 'Oh Knit!' necklace

Here are the pictures of my new necklace.  I will be putting it in the Folksy store later today.

They are available in a huge choice of colours.  I am selling them for £23.

I hope you like!

Today is my Birthday..........

and I am at my Mum's house on my own, so here is my uneventful day in phone pictures.

I have spent too much time gazing at the beautiful view from the living room window (this photo doesn't do it justice)

I finally look some proper pictures of my new necklace for my Folksy store.  Here is a mildly better picture than the last one I took of it. The proper photos will be uploaded when I am home.

I read 'Oh Comely' magazine. I finally found it at Birmingham New Street station and have now devoured it from cover to cover.  It is such a wonderful magazine and I highly recommend it.

I wondered  what to do with this Orla Kiely wrapping paper.  I'm certainly not going to wrap anything in it. I think it may look nice hanging on the wall in a dark wood frame. Sometimes simple is best.

I entertained the mini mentalist.  This is the only time he has sat still all day.

Not the most exciting Birthday ever but I don't mind.

Klaus Haapaniemi

Years ago a good friend bought me a book called Monsters by an Artist called Klaus Haapaniemi.   I fell in love with the beautifully psychedelic illustrations in the book and still look at it often, but for some reason I never thought to research Klaus's work further.  It wasn't until reading last months issue of Elle Decoration and spotting his name that I thought I should do a bit of Googling.  I am so happy that I did as it turns out that he has recently collaborated with designer Mia Wallenius to create an drool worthy range of textiles for his first signature collection.

WOW!

 All available to buy here

As expected, these stunning works of art don't come cheap but I did find a more affordable way to own a bit of Haapaniemi on a website called thelollipopshoppe.co.uk

*sigh*

Lovely things of the week

1. I fell in love with this lamp when I saw it.  it surprises me that it is Liberty but when I found out it was Liberty it no longer surprised me that it was £79.
There is currently 20% off in Liberty and on their website if you are interested.  You have to be a Liberty card holder but you can sign up for a card instantly.

2. Doc Marten Satchels.  I think I missed the boat on these as there were only 350 made and they have now all sold out.  With a £150 price tag I wouldn't have been able to own one anyway.  Never mind.

3. The article on mid-century style homes in the new issue of N.E.E.T, my favourite on-line magazine.  This is really inspiring as I am trying to bring a bit of mid-century loveliness in to my home at the moment.
You can find the article here on Page 160

4. Topsham Lock Cottage in Topsham, Exeter. I am staying there this weekend and it looks beautiful.      The cottage is available as a Holiday let apart from in the Summer when it turns into a cafe.

5. Thrift-ola.  A new on-line shop from the women behind Lady Luck rules ok.  This 24-hour second-hand superstore hasn't been launched yet but it promises to be packed to the rafters with kooky kitchenalia, ace accessories, stunning homewares, pretty paper goods, vintage books & zines and oodles of insane bric-a-brac.

You can sign up for the newsletter here and be one of the first to know when the store launches.

New knitted necklace

I have been a bit lazy on the knitting front recently, what with moving house, decorating and hunting for a job but I have finally finished the second knitted necklace for Oh Knit!

I apologise for the photo.  The flat is pretty dark at the best of times and what with it being miserable outside today it just adds to the crapness of the pic.  I don't have the mannequin or any batteries in my camera so this Photobooth shot will have to do for now.  I will be able to do a better little photo shoot for it next week and I will put it in the shop next week too.
