Hilary Grant

Oh my, Hilary Grant's machine knits are so lovely. I know that wanting is bad but I want all of them. WANT WANT WANT!!!.

I would love to learn to machine knit.  I even found a knitting machine on Freecycle a couple of years ago and so I enquired but never heard anything back.  It wasn't meant to be.  I will just drool over these instead.

Stuff

It's been ages since I last posted so I thought I would just share some random bits and pieces with you from the last couple of weeks.  What a dirty abandoner I am.

First up is my pretty new typewriter Tilly.  She was an ebay bargain and I love her so.  She couldn't be more perfect.

I spent a few days at my Mum's earlier this week and it was lovely spending some time with this very cute little man.

I also managed to make loads more squares for my granny blanket.  I love the colours so much, I bought the yarn off the internet so wasn't sure what to expect but it was perfect.

It's King Cole, Soft touch if you are interested.

I also had time to go to town on my nails.  They were a bit messy but I enjoyed them for two days before they chipped.

While I am doing an update, here is some link love:

1. snail mail my email. Send them an email and an address and they will hand write your email and send it to the address.  They will even add a doodle, a kiss, a spritz of perfume or some other stuff.

2. Friendship bracelet swap.  Such a wonderful idea!

3. Camera 360.  The wonderful Android app that I used for the photos in this post.

4. La Sardina.  Lomo cameras based on Sardine tins.  Genius!

Blog Love

I spend a whole lot of time reading blogs.  I love snooping in to other peoples lives and homes and drawing inspiration from the blog world.

I thought I would share some of my favourites.  Some are old favourites and some are new to me.  Enjoy!

http://www.whatkatiedoes.net/

What Katie Does is the blog of Katie, a web designer living in North London.  Her blog is full of great photos, yummy looking food and great design.  Definitely a must read.

http://oldbrandnew.blogspot.com/
Old Brand New is the lifestyle blog of Dabito, a Los Angeles native living in downtown. His blog is full of drool worthy photographs plus his music taste is awesome, as is his apartment, and his dog, etc etc.

http://blog.krisatomic.com/
Kris atomic is the blog of Kristina, a freelance illustrator living in Brighton.  She posts a lot of her incredible illustations, equally incredible photography and inspiration.

http://theseventytree.blogspot.com/

The blog of Kerry Layton, an illustrator living in North London, The Seventy Tree is one of the cutest blogs I have come across. Kerry posts lots of pictures of her life, her family and her gorgeous home.  I have serious house envy.

http://www.junkaholique.com/

I was only introduced to Artemis, a jewellery designer from London's blog the other day and it is one of the loveliest blogs I have ever read.  Artemis writes about her and her husbands penchant for collecting Vintage bits and pieces to sell in their on-line store, The Bucket Tree, as well as posting wonderful pictures of her life and  her shed and other things she gets up too.  I now want a shed so badly!

http://www.zilverblauw.nl/

Anki, from the Netherlands' blog is a documentation of her and her families lives.  Anki has the most colourful home I have ever seen.  It is amazing!!!  She takes wonderful pictures and her blog is heartwarming.

http://seasideair.blogspot.com/

Sea air is the blog of my friend Jen.  Jen's blog features some of her beautiful paintings as well as her inspiration and awesome Holga pictures.    Jen has great taste in all sorts of things and never fails to inspire.

Happy reading!

Rose & Co Apothecary formula

I'm a huge fan of Rose & Co and their newly released Apothecary formula potions look stunning. The packaging is so clean and beautiful and it all looks like something you would find in a victorian pharmacy.  I would love to clear the shelf in my bathroom and just have these on there.

With such good looks and names like Strawberry, Ginger & Lime skin food, I am going to find these very difficult to resist.

 Buy them for me here.

Sneek peek!

I am in the midst of knitting up new sample products for Oh Knit! so thought I should share a couple of sneeky peeks of what will be coming to my Etsy store this Autumn.

I apologise for the crappy phone shots. The product images will be a whole lot more professional, I promise.

It's a muff!!! I really want one of these for myself.  I hate wearing gloves a lot of the time, for example when shopping and you have to keep taking them on and off so what better than a muff that you can just pop your hands in when they get chilly.

A new super chunky cowl.  This looks really lovely on and is super big and squidgy.

I hope you like them. More to come soon.

Lust list

Ooooh Lovely things..........unintentionally animal themed.

ASOS Horse print dress. Perfect for the Autumn which I am already excited about.  I'm not a massive fan of the Summer.

Donna Wilson Illustrated postcards. I seem to be gaining a bit of a postcard collection at the moment and these would be a nice addition.

Christopher Stott

I have fallen in love with the Paintings (yes Paintings!) of Christopher Stott.  Stott's work blows by mind not only because it is just so good but because the objects he paints are beautiful and not what you would normally find in a painting. In fact his subject matter looks a lot like my Etsy wishlist.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Christopher for being really kind and letting me use these images

You can find more out about Stott and see more of his work on his website: http://www.chrisstott.com
