Folksy's new look

I was thinking that Folksy was looking a bit tired and that it was becoming a little too full of what I like to call 'granny' crafts (think village hall craft fair) rather than modern and contemporary crafts.
I actually stopped selling on there for this reason and that I didn't really feel that my items were right for Folksy anymore, but it seems they must have had similar thoughts themselves and had a bit of a face lift.  Their new look is brilliant and a has a much more contemporary feel to it.  I may just have to re-list my items.

They have also started 'Frankly' a magazine/blog about some of the talented makers on Folksy. It looks really fresh and well designed and I will definitely be adding it to my daily reads.

I'm really impressed and happy that the people behind Folksy have done all of this and I can definitely see it attracting more buyers and sellers. Hip hip Hooray!!!

New Knit

This Cowl was specially commissioned by Modern Art Oxford for their gift shop but will be available in my Etsy shop next week.  It is similar to the Moss stitch Cowl but made from soft Merino roving wool.

Say Goodbye

The romance of these images of men going to war at Pennsylvania Station in 1944 warmed my heart and then the sadness of it all broke it.

My Mum is moving house next week and we say Goodbye to the house that we lived in for five years.  I am not normally emotional about selling houses as I have lived in more places (I would say houses but a lot of them were pubs) than I can count on my fingers but this house in particular has been extra special.  It has seen so many very happy and very sad memories being made.   I think tears will be shed next week.
It is the home where we said goodbye to my lovely Jack Russell, Rascal after fifteen years of her wonderful company, and we said Hello to our other, slightly more mental Jack Russell, Pickle.

It has the most stunning views.  Pickle clearly thinks so too.

It is the perfect Christmas home.  I can't quite explain why but my Christmas's there have been the best of my life.

And it is also where my relationship with my wonderful boyfriend Alex began which makes having to say goodbye to the house all the more sad.

There are so many more memories I would like to share but this post is soppy enough as it is and I just wanted to document a small part of what it is that makes 122 Henwick Road so special.

Two lovely ladies from my home town of Worcester have today opened their on-line store 'Paper & Chain', selling their own very beautiful and very affordable Jewellery designs.

You can see my favourite pieces below but you should definitely head over there yourself and have a look and perhaps treat yourself.
